Police in Tokyo, Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures were set to meet Friday to establish a criminal case against Hidetsugu Aneha, the architect at the center of a building scandal involving false quake-proofing data.
It is the first time police in the three prefectures have met since the fraud was revealed by the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry on Nov. 17.
Police plan to accuse Aneha of fabricating quake-resistance data for several buildings in violation of the Building Standard Law.
