The Tokyo Commodity Exchange formed a business alliance Thursday with Bahrain's monetary authorities to promote cooperation on market operations, TCE officials said.
TCE Chairman Masaaki Nangaku and Bahrain Monetary Agency Gov. Rasheed Mohammed al-Maraj signed documents on the deal in a ceremony Thursday in Tokyo.
The Bahrain Monetary Agency serves as the oil-producing country's central bank; it also regulates the financial industry.
Under the accord, the two parties will cooperate to help investors from Bahrain join transactions on the Japanese commodity market.
