A convoy of civilian contractors involved in an electricity supply project in Iraq was hit by a roadside bomb Sunday evening, killing an Iraqi guard, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.
The project is part of Japan's reconstruction efforts in the war-torn country.
The convoy was on its way to Jordan from Baghdad after delivering equipment, the ministry said.
No other damage to vehicles or personnel was reported in the attack, and no Japanese were involved.
