A 15-year-old high school girl was found slain apparently from a deep neck wound early Friday in her apartment in the western Tokyo suburb of Machida.
The victim, identified as Yua Koyama, had some 50 cuts in more than 10 parts of her body, including the neck, head, back and hands, police said.
Her mother, Kimiko, 39, found the victim in the living room of their dwelling in an apartment building 2.5 km northwest of JR Machida Station when she returned from work as a driver for a transport firm at around 5:30 a.m. The two shared the flat, police said. The girl had apparently been dead several hours.
