Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. is ready to start marketing new two-cycle, multipurpose gasoline engines, it said Monday.

The Mitsubishi Meiki TB Series includes the lightest two-cycle gas engine, which enables machines to operate for longer periods of time. It also has a greatly improved easy-starting function, the company said.

Mitsubishi Heavy said starting Tuesday it will market the engines in the agricultural-machinery field, mainly for machines that cut undergrowth and brush. It targets sales of 100,000 units per year.
