Hitachi Ltd. said Monday it will integrate Hitachi Plant Engineering & Construction Co. and two other subsidiaries as well as its social and industrial infrastructure division on April 1.

The other two subsidiaries are Hitachi Kiden Kogyo Ltd. and Hitachi Industries Co.

The move is aimed at promoting the Hitachi group's infrastructure business through the concentration of management resources, the high-technology powerhouse said.

Hitachi Plant will be the surviving entity in the integration of operations and will remain listed on the first sections of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Osaka Securities Exchange.

Hitachi Kiden is responsible for water treatment systems. Hitachi Industries supplies big pumps.
