The Web site of an Internet company on Guam temporarily allowed access to a list of e-mail addresses of some 71,000 users of NTT DoCoMo Inc. mobile phones, NTT DoCoMo officials said Saturday.

NTT DoCoMo was alerted Oct. 7 by the personal data protection center comprising 132 telecommunications carriers and other firms that the Net company based on the U.S.-administered island had made it possible for Net surfers to read the addresses, the officials said.

NTT DoCoMo found that the Web site provided access to a list of 320,000 e-mail addresses of past and current users of NTT DoCoMo's e-mail services.

Some of the e-mail addresses were found to overlap, the officials said, but 71,000 were found to be those of current users.

NTT DoCoMo demanded that the Guam-based company make it impossible for Net users to read the list, and it complied with the request.
