CHIBA -- The 39th Tokyo Motor Show opened to the media Wednesday at the Makuhari Messe convention center here, with futuristic concept cars and vehicles sporting the latest technologies -- particularly those that make them more environmentally friendly.
In line with the rising demand for cleaner vehicles as well as consumers' desire to cushion the effects of skyrocketing oil prices, automakers are showcasing concept vehicles with advanced technology that makes driving easier on the wallet and the environment.
Toyota Motor Corp., a pioneer in hybrid vehicle development, brought its Fine-X model to the exhibition -- a futuristic car that combines both fuel-cell and hybrid technologies.
