Mitsubishi Motors Corp. on Monday launched the new Outlander sport utility vehicle, its first all-new model in nearly 2 1/2 years, which it hopes can revitalize the struggling automaker.
"We hope that this new model will become the driving force in achieving our sales target in the latter half of fiscal 2005," MMC President Osamu Masuko told a news conference at its head office in Tokyo.
Masuko said the company will launch the new SUV overseas, including in the United States, Europe and other Asian nations, positioning the new vehicle as MMC's global flagship model.
