The government will quickly study ways to help the transportation industry and others hit by soaring crude oil prices, a Cabinet Office official said Tuesday.
The official made the remarks after ministries held their first director-general-level meeting on the issue in the evening to share information on the affected industries.
The senior bureaucrats discussed current measures some ministries have already implemented to support the industries that find it difficult to pass on higher fuel costs to consumers, including the trucking and fishery industries, the official said.
