Fujitsu Ltd. announced Friday it will start selling servers that have multiple communications functions, including router and fire-wall capabilities, in the United States and Europe next year.
The electronics maker expects sales of its IPCOM series of servers to reach 10 billion yen over the next three years, a threefold increase from the current figure, he said.
The servers, to be priced at an average of 2 million yen each, stand out in terms of lower energy consumption and compact size.
The company recently launched the devices in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines and Indonesia, through its Singapore subsidiary.
Fujitsu hopes the new high-tech server will help expand its overseas sales as well as its business constructing network systems, a company spokesman said.
