Investigators have found the body of a 57-year-old investment company president who disappeared in February, after a man admitted murdering her and burying her body.
Tokyo police said they found the body of Yoko Shimizu, of Setagaya Ward, buried on a mountain in Susono, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Sunday.
Hotel employee Ryo Ishikawa, 49, was arrested last month on suspicion of falsifying and using public documents in connection with an investment deal he had arranged with Shimizu in September 2003.
He was quoted by police as confessing to strangling Shimizu over a money dispute, in a hotel in Shinagawa Ward where he worked.
According to investigators, Ishikawa had told Shimizu that his hotel was selling individual units and suggested she invest. Shimizu paid out some 60 million yen in more than 10 installments.
However, the documents regarding the rights to the rooms are suspected to have been fake, and police said believe Shimizu realized this and demanded her money back.
