The Japan Junior Yacht Club Union is accepting registrations for its 15th International Goodwill Junior Yacht Regatta on Sept. 4 at Wakasu Yacht Kunren Center in Wakasa Kaihin Park in Tokyo's Koto Ward.
The event is to give foreign children who have sailed before coming to Japan an opportunity to sail and to facilitate an exchange between foreign and Japanese children.
The race is open to people between the ages of 9 and 16 who have sailing experience.
The cost is 5,000 yen per person, which covers race costs, insurance, lunch and party for the participant as well as one party ticket for a guardian. Additional party tickets are available for 1,000 yen per person.
The application and payment deadline is Aug. 29.
