Electrical equipment manufacturers, including Sony Corp. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp., are exploiting the female perspective on the design of household electrical appliances by appointing women to relevant workshops.
Some of the goods that have been developed since this initiative was introduced have become hit products.
One of these is the Happy Vega, a liquid crystal panel TV set marketed by Sony in February. Female employees had stated their desire for a TV set that could be easily lifted when the floor is being cleaned. The result -- a 32-inch set that weighs about 20 kg, or 10 kg less than a conventional set.
