The Foreign Ministry said Monday a 37-year-old Japanese woman sustained minor injuries in last Thursday's bomb attacks in the London subway.

The ministry said it has confirmed that the woman, who lives in London, sustained slight cuts to her face and hands when a blast shattered the window of the train she was traveling on between King's Cross and Russell Square stations.

The ministry is withholding her identity at her request. She is the first Japanese national to be confirmed injured in the London bomb attacks.

The woman was on a train car next to the one that blew up, the ministry said, adding she was treated at a nearby hospital and went home the same day.
