Consumer prices in Tokyo continued falling in June as vegetable prices plunged and deflation continued to dog telecommunications fees and computer prices, according to preliminary government statistics released Friday.
The 0.4 percent drop in the June consumer price index marks the 69th consecutive month of year-on-year price drops in Tokyo.
The CPI for Tokyo's 23 wards, excluding perishable food prices, stood at 97.0 against the base of 100 for 2000, the Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry said in the report.
