U.S. software giant Microsoft Corp. has signed an agreement with the National Police Agency to provide technological information to help it investigate computer-related crimes, including cyber attacks, officials of the two parties said Tuesday.
Under the pact, signed in late April, Microsoft will provide the NPA with information on vulnerable points certain software programs may have in relation to computer viruses, cyber attacks and illegal access, before such information is disclosed to general computer users.
Microsoft and the NPA will also set up a hotline to exchange information while doing their best to ensure the protection of confidential information, the officials said.
