A lottery is now open for tickets to the Japan performance of the Live8 series of rock concerts aimed at getting world leaders to help Africa.
According to event organizers, people seeking tickets to the July 2 event at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture should access the Web site at www.Live8.jp
Follow the links under the "Ticket" tab to the excite.co.jp site, where ticket applications can be made by donating any amount to Live8. Each person can apply only once.
The lottery will be open until noon Wednesday, and donations must be received by 3 p.m. that day. The organizers say the size of the donation has no bearing on the odds of winning a ticket.
Successful applicants will notified by e-mail at 3 p.m. Thursday, together with an individual ID sheet that should be printed out and brought to the venue along with personal ID.
