China and South Korea are less than pleased with the perks Japan is reportedly getting for giving up on its bid to host the multibillion-dollar international nuclear fusion project known as ITER, government sources said Saturday.
While an official announcement has yet to be made, the sources said Japan has given up its bid for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor and in exchange will get some concessions in negotiations with the European Union.
According to the sources, the concessions had been discussed with the European side in the event one backed down.
