A document authorizing its bearer to attend a Nippon Broadcasting System Inc. shareholders' meeting Friday was offered for sale on the Internet auction site of Yahoo Japan Corp., according to Yahoo Japan officials.
Yahoo Japan deleted the offer from the site Tuesday afternoon because the document contravenes the site's guidelines on the nature of merchandise, items and services users are allowed to sell.
The document is a proxy, which gives the bearer the right to cast a vote on the shareholder's behalf at the radio broadcaster's meeting.
The proxy in question had been on sale since Sunday night, with the initial bid set at 900 yen, the officials said.
No one bid for the item, they said.
