The nation's industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 1.5 percent in November from the previous month for the first increase in three months, due partly to brisk overseas demand for semiconductor machinery, the government said Tuesday.
The index of output at mines and factories stood at 100.6 against the base of 100 for 2000, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said in a preliminary report.
The index of industrial shipments gained 1.1 percent to 102.5 after a 1.3 percent fall in October, while the index of industrial inventories expanded 0.6 percent to 91.1 after a 1.0 percent decrease the previous month.
