Production of cars, trucks and buses jumped 7.1 percent in November from a year before to 926,469 units for the first rebound in two months, due to strong sales both at home and abroad, an industry body said Monday.
Car output climbed 8.2 percent to 766,869 vehicles, while truck output rose 2.2 percent to 154,271 units and bus output surged 0.5 percent to 5,329 units, according to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Auto exports totaled 443,305 units in November, up 6.2 percent for the ninth consecutive monthly rise.
Exports of cars rose 6.3 percent to 379,119 units, and those of trucks 5.0 percent to 58,856 units. Bus exports grew 10.3 percent to 5,330 units.
The association said domestic automobile sales for the month came to 485,946 units, up 6.2 percent.
Aggregate automobile output in Japan in the 11 months through November came to 9.72 million units, up 2.7 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier.
