Honda Motor Co. said Monday it hopes to boost its worldwide sales by 8 percent to 3.4 million vehicles in 2005 by fully remodeling the popular Civic series and introducing new models.
The company said its global sales this year are expected to increase 9 percent to a record 3.16 million vehicles, exceeding the 3 million mark for the first time in its history thanks to brisk sales in Europe and China.
In Europe, Honda's sales are expected to stand at 253,000 vehicles for the year, up 16 percent from the year before thanks to the popularity of the new Accord diesel sedan. Honda expects its sales in China in 2004 to have surged 73 percent to 218,000 vehicles, thanks to an overall increase in demand.
