The subjects of photographer Toshi Kazama -- all young boys and girls -- stare straight into the lens of his camera, some smiling shyly, others looking serious.
Though they have varying backgrounds and hail from all over the United States, they have one thing in common: They are all juvenile offenders on death row.
Kazama will feature Saturday in a seminar against the death penalty at Tokyo's Kanda Christian Church, where he will talk about his experiences in meeting with these youths, their families, and relatives of the victims of their crimes.
