The wife of a Ground Self-Defense Force sergeant was found dead at their house in late September while he was stationed in the southern Iraqi city of Samawah.
The 33-year-old woman, who married the sergeant in spring 2002, was found dead at the couple's apartment in the Kanto region, according to sources close to the case.
Police believe she died of an illness.
