The Japan Junior Yacht Club Union will hold its 14th International Goodwill Junior Yacht Regatta on Sept. 5 at Wakasa Yacht Kunren Center in Wakasa Kaihin Park in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
The event, which started in 1991, is aimed at giving foreign children living in Japan who enjoyed sailing in their home countries the opportunity to sail in Japan, and to enhance friendship between Japanese and foreign children.
Foreign and Japanese children aged 9 to 16 with sailing experience are eligible to take part.
Participation costs 5,000 yen, which includes the race entry fee, insurance, lunch and party tickets for one child and a guardian. The event runs from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The deadline to apply and pay the fee is Aug. 30.
