Japan will begin talks next week to revise its tax treaty with the Netherlands to boost bilateral trade and investment, according to the Finance Ministry.
The government plans to hold similar talks with other European Union member states and Asian economies, following the revision of the Japanese-U.S. tax accord in March, an official of the ministry's Tax Bureau said.
The first round of talks to revise the Convention between Japan and the Netherlands for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income is expected to run until June 11, the official said.
He said the government hopes to agree with the Dutch government on a revision in a few years.
