Japan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at a three-year low of 4.7 percent in April, the government said Friday.
The upbeat data prompted the Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications Ministry to upgrade its assessment of employment conditions slightly from the previous month.
A government official said, "The employment situation is improving in general, although the jobless rate among younger people still stands high."
