Dentsu Inc., Japan's largest advertising agency, said Monday its net profit rose 35 percent to 30.88 billion yen for the year through March, thanks to a one-time gain from a change in the company's pension fund scheme.
Revenue increased 3 percent to 1.75 trillion yen, the first top-line growth in three years, as the company saw a rise in ad sales in four main mass media channels.
Despite this revenue growth, operating profit remained virtually unchanged at 46.69 billion yen, as personnel expenses grew faster.
