Sony Corp. said Tuesday its net profit fell 23 percent to 88.5 billion yen in fiscal 2003 due to heavy restructuring expenses.
It said sales during the period remained virtually flat at 7.49 trillion yen.
Currency fluctuations depressed sales by 209.1 billion yen, it said. Pretax profit fell 41.8 percent to 144.1 billion yen.
