The government will provide emergency aid to North Korea to help the country deal with last week's massive train explosion, starting with medical relief supplies worth $100,000.
Tokyo is planning to give the supplies, including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, through the World Health Organization and other international bodies, and is making arrangements with the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, government officials said.
