Nissan Motor Co. said Monday it posted a record group operating profit of 825 billion yen for fiscal 2003, up 11.9 percent from the previous year.
The increase was mainly attributed to brisk sales in the United States and Europe, as well as reduced purchasing costs.
The figure is "10 times the operating profit that we reported just four years ago," Nissan Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn said.
