The Japanese construction industry is known for developing the world's most advanced and sophisticated quake-resistant technology for high-rise buildings.
Currently, more than 500 ultra-high-rise buildings in Japan that stand more than 100 meters high are equipped with the newest technology designed to withstand earthquakes.
But the origins of this technology can be traced back as far as the Asuka Period (593-710).
