Nikko Cordial Corp. said Thursday it will invite Bill Wilder, president of Fidelity Investments Japan, to assume the presidency of key subsidiary Nikko Asset Management Co. around July.

He will succeed Timothy McCarthy.

Wilder will remain president of Fidelity Investments Japan until early July, according to the holding company overseeing the Nikko Cordial group of brokering and financial investment companies.

Wilder's appointment will be formalized upon approval at a Nikko Asset Management shareholders' general meeting and its board meeting, the holding company said.

McCarthy, who assumed his current post March 24, will become chairman when Wilder succeeds him, it said.
