The government has mapped out a renewed reform schedule to revitalize the economy, government sources said Tuesday.

The schedule will be submitted to the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy on Thursday. It is intended to promote 50 policies in 10 priority fields, including the employment, personnel resources, and industrial and financial sectors, they said.

It is the first time the government has revamped the original reform schedule that was drawn up in fall 2001 by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's administration. Under its new plan, it aims to create 5 million jobs in nine service sectors, including health, tourism and the environment, the sources said.
