Simmons Co., the Japanese partner of the U.S. bedding maker, unveiled on Wednesday a series of new bed models to commemorate the 40th anniversary of operations in Japan.
The commemorative models "feature the conservative ambience of America's good old days and the contemporary modern feel," the company said. They include the double-size Great Falls canopy, which carries a price tag of 410,000 yen.
Simmons' Japanese operations date back to 1964. In 1996 it became a subsidiary of Nifco Inc., a leading industrial fastener manufacturer and the parent firm of The Japan Times.
