Investors burned by a government-registered organization are planning to file a complaint with the police for alleged investment fraud, sources said Wednesday.
Yamabikokai, a nonprofit organization established in 1999 to provide people with hearing impediments with information on welfare and education, had asked its members to invest in an incinerator marketing business.
More than 1,000 members invested a total of more than 1 billion yen in the business, run by an affiliate of Yamabikokai.
