Two 16-year-old youths were arrested Monday on suspicion of murdering a homeless man in June by forcing him to jump into a Tokyo river and drown, police said.
Investigators said the youths, who both reside in Koto Ward, have admitted forcing 64-year-old Yasuoki Higashi to jump into a deep part of the river and said they didn't care if he died because "homeless people were no good as humans."
Police said they decided to arrest the teens for murder because the two were aware Higashi might die as a result of their actions.
