Oracle Corp. Japan said Friday that its parent net profit rose 21.1 percent in the fiscal first half that ended Nov. 30 from a year earlier to 7.36 billion yen, thanks to increased sales of its mainstay database software.
The subsidiary of U.S. software giant Oracle Corp. said its parent pretax profit rose 19.6 percent to 12.65 billion yen on a 1.1 percent gain in revenues to 39.78 billion yen. Operating profit rose 18.8 percent to 12.61 billion yen.
Oracle Japan said sales of its mainline database software rose 8.1 percent to 16.7 billion yen, accounting for 42.1 percent of total sales.
The company said it will keep its interim dividend unchanged at 35 yen per share.
For the full year to May 31, Oracle Japan left unchanged its unconsolidated earnings projections made in July, forecasting net profit to rise 10.3 percent to 15.4 billion yen.
