The government is planning legal amendments that would make it easier for victims of gang violence to sue those in the top echelons of these organizations for damages.
A bill to revise the antigangster law is to be submitted to the Diet during the regular session that convenes later this month, National Police Agency officials said Wednesday.
The NPA hopes the proposed amendment will provide assistance to innocent victims of mob-linked violence, as well as deter gang warfare.
