Economy and trade minister Shoichi Nakagawa said Wednesday he will visit the United States, Vietnam and Cambodia in January on a nine-day tour to meet senior officials of the three countries.

Nakagawa is scheduled to travel to Washington on Jan. 7 and meet with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick and Commerce Secretary Donald Evans to exchange views over trade issues and bilateral economic ties.

Nakagawa's next stop is Hanoi, where he plans to hold talks with Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and other officials from Jan. 11 to 14.
