Dell Japan Inc., the Japanese unit of U.S. computer maker Dell Inc., on Monday launched its first liquid crystal display television outside the United States.
The Dell W1700 17-inch TV set, priced at 85,000 yen, can be hooked up to a personal computer, the company said.
As the new TV can be connected to a desktop computer in Dell's Dimension series, Dell Japan will launch a package featuring the W1700 TV and the Dimension 2400C, the latest model in the series, for 139,800 yen on Tuesday.
The Japanese unit changed its name to Dell Japan from Dell Computer K.K. on Monday.
