Industry insiders have a theory about why Japan's home video-game market continues to contract -- the games are too difficult.
Despite offering the latest technologies and features, including picture quality rivaling that of film and multiplayer online gaming, video-game makers have been unable to halt sliding sales.
"Game content has become so elaborate," one industry watcher said, "the consoles are difficult to use and customers are becoming alienated."
