Tokyo police arrested five people Friday, including a former senior managing director of the consumer loan firm Takefuji Corp., over the alleged wiretapping of a journalist.
Police raided Takefuji Corp.'s headquarters in Shinjuku Ward the same day.
The five suspects include 61-year-old Kunio Kotaki, former senior managing director of Takefuji, and 42-year-old Kazuhiro Nakagawa, a former Takefuji employee who is currently standing trial on separate charges, police said.
