Nobuo Yamaguchi, chairman of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on Tuesday received the annual Zaikai Prize, awarded by the publisher of the business magazine Zaikai.
Yamaguchi was honored for his role in promoting small and midsize firms, which account for 99 percent of Japan's businesses, according to the publisher.
Minoru Mori, president of Mori Building Co., was awarded the Special Prize for pursuing the challenges of urban renewal, which culminated in the completion in April of the large-scale Roppongi Hills complex in Tokyo.
