Toshiba Corp. said Friday it has obtained a license from Honeywell International Inc. to use two Honeywell U.S. patents relating to liquid crystal displays found in a wide variety of electronic consumer and business products.
Financial terms of the license were not disclosed.
The patented technologies reduce screen flicker and drive the gray scale of pixels, Toshiba said.
The technologies are used widely in LCD applications, including desktop PC monitors, notebook computers, TVs and personal digital assistants.
Honeywell is a diversified U.S. manufacturer known for control-technology, automotive and aerospace products.
