Expressing concern over the strength of the British pound against the euro, Honda Motor Co. President Takeo Fukui has called for Britain to adopt the single European currency, the Financial Times reported Monday.
The pound's strength "is no good for our business," Fukui was quoted as saying.
The currency's surge against the euro comes after the automaker decided to increase its production capacity in Britain.
Carlos Ghosn, president and chief executive officer of Nissan Motor Co., and Hiroshi Okuda, chairman of the Japan Business Federation and chairman of Toyota Motor Corp., have also come out in favor of Britain's early adoption of the euro.
