For many elderly foreigners who were victims of Japanese prewar and wartime aggression and occupation, the fighting continues.
Some of them have or plan to sue the Japanese government for compensation. But they will get little help from Japanese or even international law.
Japanese supporters and sympathizers meanwhile feel the only hope left for foreign victims of Japanese aggression or occupation to receive compensation for their suffering before they die will be if administrative or legislative action is taken to compensate them.
