William Morrow, president of Japan Telecom Holdings Co., said Friday that the outcome of talks over the planned sale of fixed-line carrier Japan Telecom Co. to U.S. investment fund Ripplewood Holdings LLC is expected to emerge next month.
Morrow told an annual shareholders' meeting it is difficult to predict whether an agreement can be reached with Ripplewood. He added, however, that his firm hopes to see an end to the negotiations by the end of July.
Japan Telecom Holdings operates under the umbrella of Vodafone Group PLC, a British mobile phone giant that has been in talks with Ripplewood over Japan Telecom Co. since February.
