Oriental Land Co., operator of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, said Thursday its group net profit for fiscal 2002 rose 48.8 percent to 18.93 billion yen.
In its consolidated earnings report, the company said its pretax profit rose 42.6 percent to 33.91 billion yen, with revenue up 18 percent to 331.75 billion yen.
Oriental Land said the two amusement parks drew 24.82 million visitors during the reporting year, up 12.6 percent from the previous year.
A breakdown of figures for each park was not available.
The firm said the theme park business alone generated 280.69 billion yen in revenue, up 11.5 percent, and an operating profit of 30.82 billion yen, up 3.7 percent.
For fiscal 2003, Oriental Land expects to record a net profit of 16.9 billion yen and a pretax profit of 30.5 billion yen on revenue of 332.4 billion yen.
